The first scientific exposition at the Zoology Division has been organized in the beginnig of 60s of the last century; exposition in its recent state was opened in 1971. It harbours an extensive collection of stuffed, pickled and skeletonized vertebrates, which have been collected for more than 50 years. Vertebrates of the Central Part of Russia form the core of the collection, although animals from other regions, including exotic ones, can also be found. Systematic collection of birds constitute the major part of the exposition.
